Who we are

Palisade is operated by Occupation Force Callsign GSW Pty Ltd, trading as 22nd Survey Division (ACN 692 429 397 · ABN 50 692 429 397), a company registered in New South Wales, Australia. Contact: gwu0738@gmail.com.

This policy explains how we handle personal information, consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

• Your email address — only if you choose to give it via the beta signup or a feature suggestion / bug report.
• Technical/log data — our server automatically records requests (IP address, browser type, pages, timestamps) for security and to keep the service running.
• Location context on submission — when you submit a feature suggestion or bug report, we record: the IP address of your request; the centre of your map view (if your job is georeferenced onto MGA); and, only if you have Locate turned on at the time you submit, your live GPS position and its accuracy in metres. Location is stored only alongside the specific submission so we can understand where and how the tool is being used.
• Locate activation ping — when you turn on 📍 Locate, we send a one-time real-time notification to our operations channel with the same information (IP + your live GPS position). This is a lightweight analytics beacon so we can see how the tool is being used; it is not stored in our database beyond that notification.
• On-device data — the app stores your recent inputs in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device; we don't collect it.

We do not collect survey data you enter — traverses, coordinates and files are processed to give you a result and are not stored on our servers beyond the request.

Why we use it

• To send you occasional updates about Palisade and to notify you when paid/Pro features launch (email — only if you subscribed).
• To operate, secure, and improve the service (log data).

Consent

You provide your email voluntarily and, by subscribing, consent to receiving those updates. You can withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights”).

Storage & security

Data is stored on our server hosted in Australia (Sydney). We take reasonable steps to protect it: encrypted (HTTPS) transport, a firewalled server, and restricted access. No method is perfectly secure, but we keep the footprint small — an email list and server logs.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only use trusted infrastructure providers to run the service:

• DigitalOcean — server hosting (Sydney region).
• Stripe — payment processing, only if/when you make a purchase.
• An email delivery provider, only if/when we send the updates you subscribed to.

We may disclose information if required by law.

Your rights

• Unsubscribe any time via the link in our emails, at the unsubscribe page, or by emailing us.
• Access & correction — ask us what we hold about you and have it corrected.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your details; unsubscribing removes your email from our list.

Retention

We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.
